Is a third season of Record of Ragnarok planned?

Record of Ragnarok, also known as “Shuumatsu no Walküre,” is an action ONA based on the manga series created by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui and illustrated by Ajichika (original net animation). The idea that the gods from different pantheons meet every 1,000 years in the Council of Valhalla to decide the fate of humanity is the central theme of the story. Brunhilde, the first of the 13 Valkyries, persuades the gods to hold the Ragnarok, in which 13 gods face 13 human champions to decide the fate of humanity, just before they decide to exterminate humans for their transgressions against the earth they live in.

The gods are ahead 2-1 when the second season gets underway. Critics have given Season 2 mixed to excellent reviews, complimenting the story while criticising the animation. We have the information you need if you’re wondering if “Record of Ragnarok” will get a third season.

Will Season 3 of Record of Ragnarok happen?

Season 2 part 1 of “Record of Ragnarok” debuted on Netflix on January 26, 2023. It has ten 24- to 27-minute long episodes. Five episodes make up Part 2, which will air later in 2023. The first season, which premieres on June 17, 2021, features 12 episodes. This is what you need to know about season 3.

Season 3 is now in development, however neither the show’s producers nor Netflix officials have announced this. There would probably be 13 fights in the narrative. The manga series is currently in its eighth fight, and the sixth fight is where the first half of the second season concludes. It is safe to assume that the sixth battle will be the exclusive emphasis of the second half of season 2. Buddha has stated that he will fight for mankind and has changed sides. Bishamonten, the Shinto god of war and one of the Seven Lucky Gods, is Buddha’s first foe in the manga series. Later, Bishamonten merges with the other six Lucky Gods to become the god of bad luck, Zerofuku. After Zerofuku is devoured by two dragons, the demon Hajun makes an appearance. The conflict continues until Buddha vanquishes Hajun, levelling the playing field for the humans.

There are three fights in each of the first and second seasons. It follows that the third season will at the very least address those topics, if not more. But as was already explained, the manga is presently showing the ninth battle. Therefore, it is unlikely that the production will start before the manga’s ninth fight is over.

Qin Shi Huang, the emperor who united China, squares off against Hades, the Greek pantheon’s ruler of the Underworld, in the seventh round. With the help of Alvitr, the tenth Valkyrie, and his heavenly weapon, which takes the form of shoulder plates and arm and hand guards, Qin Shi Huang creates Völundr. The seventh match is ultimately won by Qin Shi Huang using Chi You – Sword-Armor Form: Shi Huang Guard and Yan Cut, making the final score 4-3 in favour of humanity. The most famous scientist in human history, Nikola Tesla, squares off against Beelzebub, a significant deity in both the Philistine and Abrahamic Pantheons, in the eighth round.

If the manga wraps up the ninth round by the end of 2023, season 3 production will likely get underway. The second episode of season 2 will have already aired by then. There is undoubtedly enough interest in the anime to support a second season. If this keeps up, it won’t be long before the anime is renewed for another season. Given everything, the third season of “Record of Ragnarok” will most likely air in the fourth quarter of 2024.
