The first chapter of the manga “One Piece” is titled “Romance Dawn”. It was first published in the Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in Japan on July 19, 1997.
In this chapter, we are introduced to Monkey D. Luffy, a young boy with rubber-like abilities after eating a Devil Fruit. He dreams of becoming the Pirate King and finding the legendary treasure known as One Piece.
The chapter opens with Luffy being saved from drowning by a group of fishermen, who accidentally swallow the Devil Fruit he had been carrying. Luffy reveals his dream to them, and they warn him that piracy is a dangerous and illegal profession. However, Luffy is undeterred and sets off to find a crew and begin his adventure.
Later, Luffy saves a girl named Alvida from being beaten by her own crew. Alvida is so grateful that she decides to make Luffy her servant, but he fights back and defeats her with his rubber powers. This impresses a local pirate crew, who offer to let Luffy join them. However, Luffy turns them down and sets off on his own to continue his journey towards becoming the Pirate King.
The chapter ends with Luffy spotting a barrel in the sea, which he opens to reveal a boy named Coby who has been trapped inside by his cruel captain. Luffy frees Coby and invites him to join him on his journey.
