Who is Whitebeard in one piece?

335

The captain of the Whitebeard Pirates and better known by his alias “Whitebeard,” Edward Newgate, was hailed as the “Strongest Man in the World” and, following the passing of Gol D. Roger, the “Man Closest to One Piece.”

Newgate was an orphan from the island of Sphinx before assembling his own crew. He was a well-known member of the fabled Rocks Pirates during his time as a sailor, and later in life, before dying in the Summit War of Marineford, he joined the Four Emperors who dominate the New World.

In his peak, Whitebeard competed with Gol D. Roger, and after Roger’s death, he came to be regarded as the strongest man in the world. Whitebeard had the second-largest bounty of any pirate in history, and at the time of his death, he had the highest active bounty.

Whitebeard Tremor-Tremor fruit power

Whitebeard’s pirates’ leader. Edward Newgate is his true name. He uses the Tremor-Tremor Fruit’s power, which has been said to have the capacity to end the world. When Navy HQ said that Ace would be killed in public, he led a group of pirates in an attack on Marineford, which started the Paramount War.

Whitebeard employs the Tremor-Tremor Fruit’s tremor-inducing abilities. His devastating tremor attack can obliterate everything in its path and give the foe little time to react.

Is Whitebeard a giant?

No he is not a giant

Whitebeard was an unusually tall man, at 666 cm (21’10”) tall. He was well-proportioned, nonetheless, unlike other large-sized individuals. He was quite muscular, had a lengthy face with many wrinkles around his eyes from advancing age, and several scars going down his chest. Every time he employed his quake-based powers, his bicep muscles appeared to expand. He had his own Jolly Roger tattooed on his back, just like all of his guys did. His eyes are brown in the manga, but they are shown to be yellow in the anime.

He dressed himself with a white captain’s coat that hung adrift from his big shoulders and displayed his Jolly Roger emblem while donning a black bandanna around his head. He wore light, loose slacks tucked inside his big, black boots and a dark pirate sash around his waist. He was often spotted baring his chest. Due to age-related health difficulties, Whitebeard was frequently on oxygen and tethered to many medical sensor equipment when not engaged in combat.

Whitebeard lost his left eye, the left side of his moustache, and a huge hole in his torso after Akainu melted off a section of his head in the manga (this was modified to only losing the left side of his moustache in the anime)[22, 23]. (a second, bigger hole in the stomach was also dealt by Akainu in the anime).

He never backed down from a fight, though, and in the 72 years he had lived, he had never once suffered a wound on his back.

He wore a white sleeveless shirt with the word “Power” (Chikara?) printed on it when he was younger. He was also sporting a white bandanna and shorts. He had scars and scrapes from his bouts that were bandaged.

Is Whitebeard the most powerful One Piece character?

That depends, I guess. I believe there are only two persons stronger than Whitebeard:

Gol D. Roger

The enduring foe of Whitebeard was Gol D. Roger. They clashed frequently, and the only conflict we are aware of lasted for three days. He was regarded as being on par with Whitebeard.

The manga has previously established that Haki is superior to Devil Fruit. But does that hold true given that Whitebeard obtained a Devil Fruit and a huge Haki?

Additionally, Roger gained a better weapon and overall power (Haki). Roger can thus only just barely defeat him.

Dr. Rocks Xebec

The previous skipper of Whitebeard was Rocks D. Xebec. Since we really don’t know much about him, I can’t really dispute with him, but in my opinion, Xebec is stronger than Roger because of his alliance with Garp. Therefore, if Roger >= Whitebeard and Xebec >= Roger, then Xebec > Roger is a given.
